Roger Akelius, the founder, establishes a company in Cyprus.
The company developed a computer program for tax declarations and calculations. 
The team included twenty lawyers and thirty programmers.

1987

Incorporates a life insurance company in Cyprus.
 

1994

Sells the computer program company.

Acquires the first residential properties in the Swedish cities of Helsingborg, Gothenburg, and Trollhättan.
 

2005

Sells the shares in Akelius Insurance Ltd.
 

2019

Acquires the first property in Nicosia.

the founder, Roger Akelius

Roger Akelius, the founder of Akelius,
grew up in Stora Mellby in southwestern Sweden.

His entrepreneurial journey began at age eleven
with a summer job at a dairy company.

With his first two paychecks he bought a camera and a tent.

With his third paycheck he bought his first property, a summer cottage.

In 1968, Roger became the youngest lecturer at
Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg.

In 1974, Roger's book about premium bonds became a bestseller, establishing the Akelius name among the masses.

In 1982, Roger published the book Akelius Tax, 
explaining tax reduction strategies in a simple way for the ordinary person. 

In 1985, Roger was first in the world to sell fiscal declaration programs.

In 1994, Roger acquired his first properties in Gothenburg, Helsingborg, and Trollhättan. 
Today, Akelius owns residential properties in eleven metropolitan cities across Europe and North America.

In addition to his business activities,
Roger has been engaged in charity through Akelius Foundation for many years.
The Foundation has made large donations to support people in need around the world.
